  3. 4 large onions, chopped

  7. 1/2 pound mushrooms, about 1/4 thick sliced
  8. 10 branches of Tim, tied with kitchen string
  9. 1 carrot, peeled and cut into about 1/4 thick
  10. 1 tablespoon cornmeal

Steps for cooking beef stew with onions

  1. In a large saucepan over medium heat, add the chopped vegetable oil. Season the meat with salt and pepper and add it to the pan. Baste beef until browned.
  2. Add enough cold water to the pan to cover the meat. Place on grill and reduce heat to medium. Let the meat cook for about 2 hours until tender. Add more water as needed to keep meat in water.
  3. Carefully transfer the meat and cooking liquid to a large bowl. Add the butter to a skillet and heat over high heat. Add onion and sauté until dark brown. Make sure the bottom of the pan does not burn or burn. Add the brandy to the pan and simmer for 2 minutes or more until most of the brandy is cooked.
  4. Pour the oil over the beef broth then pour the liquid into the pan with the caramelized onions. Add raw potatoes, mushrooms and thyme. Cover with a lid and reduce the heat to medium. Cook for 15 minutes until the potatoes are half cooked. Add carrots. Bake another 15 minutes until the potatoes are cooked through and the carrots are tender.
  5. Timon fish out of a pot. Make a liquid with cornmeal and 1/4 cup water. Pour it into a saucepan. Bake uncovered for 5 minutes, then serve with a large loaf of bread.
