  1. For Paste - in a blender add grated coconut, green chilies, cumin seeds, and water and blend into a paste
  2. In a pan add Moong Dal and roast until golden colour, add 2 cups water, and stir to boil. Add turmeric powder, and salt and stir and cover to cook until cooked.
  3. Check doneness, mash and add 2 cups water and stir. Add coconut paste and stir and cover to cook for 3-4 mins. Set aside.
  4. In a pan heat Coconut oil, mustard seeds, whole red chilies, curry leaves, and shallots sliced or onion chopped and cook for 2 mins, add to Parippu, mix
